Matt Seale was born and raised in coastal Georgia, but after graduating from Georgia Tech, he found his way to the small town of Ocilla, located in middle south Georgia. As a business owner in downtown Ocilla, he became engaged in local efforts to grow the economy of his new home and enhance the quality of life there. He also set to learning and keeping up with the new ways of doing business as the internet changed everything about how we communicate, interact, and conduct business. He founded irwinomics to help small businesses with sales and marketing and business development and strategy, specifically focusing on businesses in small towns that support rural communities. In 2015, Matt was encouraged to run in a special election for Mayor, which he won, and was re-elected in 2017. In 2018, Mayor Seale started Small Town Podcast, an audio project produced and promoted by irwinomics, with the goal of promoting small towns with each individual episode while enhance the brand of small towns everywhere with the overall series. In addition to his service to his own small town of Ocilla, Matt is heavily involved with state and regional organizations including the Southern Georgia Regional Commission, where he sits on the Executive Committee, and the Georgia Municipal Association, where he currently serves as a District President, as a member of GMA’s Legislative Policy Council, and GMA’s Board of Directors.

Amy Davis was born and raised in the historic small town of Plains, GA. After moving to middle Georgia for the next few years, she went on to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. After discovering her love for both the marketing and agriculture industries, she decided she wanted a career that allowed her to use her creative abilities to merge the two. Amy graduated from ABAC in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business.

Since then, Amy has gained valuable experience in marketing within many different ag based businesses. From SEO to social media to email newsletters, she enjoys helping small businesses (and now towns too) grow to be the best they can be in this digital age! Now more than ever, she wants to use her skills to help businesses propel themselves to the next level.

Amy now resides in Montezuma, Georgia, with her husband, Levi. In her spare time, she loves thrift shopping, spending time with family, and playing with her dachshund named Lenny.

Katelyn Jenkins was born and raised in the small town of Walnut Grove, Georgia, just under an hour East of Atlanta. After graduating from Piedmont College in late 2015, she found herself moving to South Georgia to be with her boyfriend, now husband, who was living in Irwinville at the time for his job. Within a couple of weeks of moving into an old, charming farmhouse in Irwinville in March 2016, she discovered the wonderful small town of Ocilla, Georgia, and became a team member at The Shoppes at Fourth and Cherry. At The Shoppes, Katelyn was able to express her artistic abilities through multiple mediums, such as lettering, photography, and web design, where she merged her artistic talents with her love for small business and social media. She continues to use her talents in these areas for irwinomics as our Director of Digital Productions and Lead Content Creator.

You can now find Katelyn in the small town of Social Circle, Georgia, with her husband and their toddler daughter. Although she works remotely, she looks forward to her visits down I-75 South to Ocilla, Georgia, for content planning, photography, and catching up with her work family. When she’s not creating digital media, she enjoys road trips with her family, frequenting local, small-town coffee shops, and thrift shopping.
